he opening game of the Women’s World Cup takes place today with New Zealand facing Norway at Eden Park.
Auckland is set to put on a show pre-game with the opening ceremony starting at 7.30am BST, just before kick-off in Group A.
Hosts New Zealand face a tricky test as they get underway against 1995 champions Norway, who are tipped to go far at the World Cup.
In fact, the Football Ferns have never won a game at this level.
Therefore any result in front of a packed home crowd will be a huge boost to their hopes of advancing in the tournament.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be broadcast live and for free on BBC One with coverage starting at 7.30am before kick-off at 8am.
