The New York Yankees and NBA star Lebron James are about to invest in Serie A champions Milan.

The Financial Times have reported that baseball outfit Yankees, who are owned by the Steinbrenner family, and Main Street Advisors, the LA-based fund that has LeBron James as an investor, famed music producer Jimmy Iovine and rapper Drake, will become shareholders in the Serie A team.

The information to FT has come from two people close to the situation and RedBird are expected to announce information on shareholders on Wednesday, as that is when they will officially take over from Elliot Management.

The Yankees are also shareholders in Manchester City and MLS side New York City FC. RedBird founder Gerry Cardinale had worked with the Yankees for quite a substantial time and the baseball side are expected to work quite closely with the Rossoneri to help them increase their off-field revenues and the Serie A champions could also have a part of their programming on the YES Network.
