As sports director Hasan Salihamidzic has recently emphasized, Bayern will not sign any more players in the current winter transfer window. For the coming summer, however, various names are already circulating at Säbener Straße. Holland youngster Cody Gakpo is also being traded.
As the transfer insider Ekrem Konur reports, FC Bayern continues to deal with Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven. Accordingly, the Bavarians are pushing a transfer of the 22-year-old winger for the upcoming transfer summer. FCB was already linked with the shooting star last summer. Chelsea FC, Liverpool and Manchester City are also said to be interested in the Dutchman.
In the current season, Gakpo has already scored 21 goals (ten goals, eleven assists) and is one of the key players for Eindhoven. The market value is currently €22 million, and a move in the summer is more than likely due to his steep development curve. Gakpo can be used flexibly in the offense, but feels most comfortable on the left wing.
So how likely is a transfer of Gakpo to the Isar? Since Kingsley Coman has extended his contract in Munich until 2027 and Leroy Sane also has a long-term contract, a transfer is rather unlikely. Because Bayern are also currently conducting contract negotiations with Serge Gnabry, and should these be concluded successfully, the record champion will have three outstanding wingers at its disposal. Jamal Musiala is also capable of playing on the offensive flanks.
