Arsenal are said to be interested in signing Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui.

That is according to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, who say Aston Villa and the Gunners are both looking at bringing the forward to the Premier League.

Retegui has been in fine form for the Serie A leaders this season, scoring 12 goals in 17 league games.

Another of Arsenal’s reported forward interests is the target of a new contract from his current club, however.

The Daily Mail say Wolves are hoping to tie Matheus Cunha down to a new contract to fend off transfer interest as they look to maintain their place in the Premier League.

Arsenal full-back Kieran Tierney, meanwhile, is in talks over a return to former club Celtic.

The Scotland international has found game time difficult to come by this season and BBC Sport say he has held pre-contract talks with the Scottish club.

Real Madrid are targeting a move for Gunners central defender William Saliba, according to Spanish outlet Sport, who say the Spanish giants are aware they would need to “break records” to sign him.

And the Evening Standard say Arsenal have held contract talks with youngster Ayden Heaven as they hope to tie the 18-year-old down to his first professional contract.
