Lazio new boy Oliver Provstgaard considers joining the Italian capital side as a dream come true after growing fond of the club due to an old Biancocelesti jersey he found in his father’s closet.

The Aquile thus signed Provstgaard for circa €4 million on the final day of the winter transfer session, allowing the latter to fulfil his dream, as he explained while chatting with Lazio Style Channel (via Calciomercato).

Playing for Lazio is a dream come true. I can’t wait to start creating so many great memories with this club. I know that the video of me wearing the Lazio shirt a year ago went viral. Provstgaard then explained his main attributes while identifying Liverpool stalwart Virgil van Dijk as his role model.

I consider myself a modern central defender, I love playing the ball under pressure. I want to have possession and build from the back. This is my main quality. I am also tall and physically strong, an important advantage for a defender. My idol is Van Dijk from Liverpool. I like him as a player and even more his personality and the way he leads the team as captain. I admire him a lot.
