New Real Madrid signing Dean Huijsen has early this week provided an insight into the welcome afforded to him by his new teammates in Spain’s capital.

Defender Huijsen of course sealed a dream move to Real Madrid last month, after Los Blancos agreed to meet the release clause in his contract with Bournemouth.

Despite his tender years, the 20-year-old is expected to play a prominent role at the Santiago Bernabéu next season, amid lofty expectations across Europe.

Huijsen, in turn, was no doubt delighted upon receiving messages of welcome and good luck from some of those awaiting him at his new club.

Speaking during an interview with Diario AS this week, the Spanish international was asked:

”Which Real Madrid player are you most looking forward to meeting?”

And Huijsen made use of the question to confirm that he has already received text messages from ‘six or seven’ Real Madrid stars:

”I only knew Asencio personally, but I’m looking forward to seeing everyone. Quite a few people have texted me. Six or seven have welcomed me.”
