Following the Copa Libertadores final and with the Brasileirão title far out of reach, Flamengo have begun to plan for 2022.
Flamengo can raise funds by selling one of their right-backs this off-season. The club has three players for the role: Mauricio Isla, Matheuzinho, and Rodinei.
According to journalist Venê Casagrande, Flamengo are already close to agreeing on the sale of Rodinei with MLS outfit Charlotte FC, who are set to begin play in 2022
Charlotte manager Miguel Ángel Ramírez, who coached Internacional earlier this year, has already been in contact with Rodinei over a potential switch.
Charlotte are said to have already made an offer that Flamengo find acceptable and have offered Rodinei a three-year deal, though the Rubro-Negro will not likely sell until the end of the season.
