Cinel set for coaching debut in Salzburg

Our home match this Sunday 21 April at 17:00 CET is marking the end of an eventful week for our club.

Onur Cinel took over as coach of our Red Bulls on Monday, and on Wednesday evening came the news that we have qualified for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup! We have three ADMIRAL Bundesliga points in our sights to cap the week against SK Austria Klagenfurt.

After two defeats and two draws, the opponents currently fifth in the table are yet to really make a mark on the championship group. Our encounters in the regular season have both been extremely hard-fought - with a 1-0 win taken at home but a 2-2 draw with ten men away.

A true force together at home

A great omen is the fact that we remain unbeaten in the championship group at home since its introduction (taking 21 wins and six draws), while winning all of our past three matches against the side coached by Peter Pacult at the Red Bull Arena.

The clash on Sunday is the first installment of our Klagenfurt double-header, with our first of the final five fixtures against our fellow championship group opponents coming away this Wednesday, 24 April. That makes it even more important to get a win to set us up for the crunch weeks to come.

If you want to be there for Onur Cinel's first game in charge and don't have a ticket yet, you can still get one at our online Ticket Shop. The match is to be broadcast on Sky Sport Austria, and we will provide live text updates as usual on our website.

We have summarised everything you need to know about coming to the stadium on Sunday in our latest match day info:

The first days of training together were exciting and very intensive too. It was a lot of fun, above all. We had good conversations and worked on a lot of things on the pitch and off it with the team and the staff. It was a very important week of training, as I got to know the players and see how they work up close. Now it's a matter of putting everything that we worked on during the week into practice at the weekend.

Onur Cinel

We have a good and intensive week of training behind us and worked on a lot of details. We are playing at home this Sunday and want to play with verve from the very first second and pen the opponents back in their own half. We want to create lots of chances, be proactive in the game and take three points at the end.
