Key Signings Pick Iconic Numbers

Among the most notable announcements is Florian Wirtz, who has taken the prestigious No.7 shirt following Luis Diaz’s recent departure to Bayern Munich. The German midfielder, a key acquisition this summer, will carry the legacy of a number steeped in Liverpool history.

At left-back, Milos Kerkez has opted for No.6, signalling the club’s belief in him as a long-term defensive solution. Jeremie Frimpong, arriving from Bayer Leverkusen, has retained his familiar No.30 shirt, a subtle nod to his time in the Bundesliga.

Striker Hugo Ekitike, another significant attacking reinforcement, will wear No.22, as Liverpool continue to evolve under Arne Slot’s attacking philosophy.

Goalkeeper Group Takes Shape

The reshaped goalkeeping unit has also been allocated numbers, with Giorgi Mamardashvili wearing No.25 after his move to Merseyside. Former Newcastle United stopper Freddie Woodman will sport No.28, while young talent Armin Pecsi has been assigned No.41.

These additions provide depth and competition behind first-choice keeper Alisson Becker, and reflect the club’s intent to remain competitive across all fronts.

Promising Prospects Opt for Change

From within the existing ranks, Conor Bradley and Trey Nyoni have both made adjustments to their squad numbers. Northern Ireland international Bradley moves from No.84 to No.12, hinting at an increased role following his breakthrough last season. Nyoni, a rising midfield prospect, has switched from No.98 to No.42.

These internal changes highlight the growing responsibility placed on younger players within Slot’s squad, as Liverpool prepare for another title challenge.

Adidas Kit Launch Adds to Buzz

The squad number confirmations coincide with heightened excitement around Liverpool’s new Adidas kits for the 2025-26 campaign.

With new faces, a fresh look and renewed ambition, Liverpool’s preparations for the new season are firmly under way, and supporters now have all the information they need on kit release day.
