Lazio fear they could lose Manuel Lazzari who missed a training session while the team prepares to take on Atalanta on Saturday night.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the right-back will undergo an IRM to reveal the extent of his physical problem while Marco Baroni will be hoping to avoid another injury ahead of two crucial fixtures. The Biancocelesti will host the league leaders this weekend before battling out with their crosstown rivals Roma the following Sunday.
Lazzari has been a regular starter for Lazio this season, as he’s considered the first choice at right-back ahead of Adam Marusic. Nevertheless, the Montenegrin was expected to start against Atalanta anyway, especially after emerging as the unlikely hero last weekend by scoring the winner off the bench against Lecce.
The Roman newspaper believes that even if the tests were to rule out any injuries, the former SPAL man could still be rested this weekend as a precautionary measure since he might not be in his optimal physical condition. The Italian would thus be added to the list of absentees which includes Pedro, Tijjani Noslin and Matias Vecino.
