Is ex-Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic celebrating a comeback in the Bundesliga? According to the latest reports, the Bosnian is being linked with a move to Hamburger SV.
At the end of May 2023, after winning the last-minute championship, Bayern announced the dismissal of Hasan Salihamidzic. The former professional was jointly responsible for the sporting fortunes of the German record champions for six years and celebrated great successes during this time, including the treble in the 2019/20 season.
After leaving FC Bayern, things have become very quiet around the 47-year-old. This could soon change. According to the Abendblatt newspaper, Salihamidzic is being rumoured as a possible successor to Jonas Boldt at Hamburger SV.
After missing out on promotion to the 1st Bundesliga, sporting director Boldt is under enormous pressure. According to Abendblatt information, HSV’s supervisory board has not yet made a final decision on whether or not to continue with Boldt. This decision is expected to be made in the course of the week.
Should Boldt actually have to leave the club in the summer, Salihamidzic is one of the top candidates. The Bosnian was once trained in HSV’s youth programme and made his breakthrough into the professional game there in 1995. After three years in Hamburg, he moved to FC Bayern in 1998.
According to rumours, HSV not only have Salihamidzic on their radar, but Marco Neppe, the former Bayern technical director who only recently left FCB, is also being traded on the Elbe. According to the rumours, HSV would like to sign Salihamidzic and Neppe „as a package“.
