The German Football Association (DFB) have announced their new dates to complete this season’s DFB Pokal.
With the country’s top two divisions set to return to action this weekend, plans turned to finishing the domestic cup competition.
The DFB confirmed that the semi-final games will be held on 9 and 10 June, with the final to be played a month later on 4 July.
That followed extensive discussions on Monday between the organisation and politicians and the decision was taken after an extraordinary board meeting.
The games will, of course, be played behind ghost doors with DFB president Fritz Keller believing it to be the best choice.
“This was by far the best option available,” he said via a short statement.
“We all hope that the cup can be experienced in full stadiums next season and in those of amateur clubs, which make this competition so unique.”
Holders Bayern Munich are due to face Eintracht Frankfurt at home, while Bayer Leverkusen travel to minnows 1. FC Saarbrücken.
