Barcelona are gearing up for a busy last week of the summer transfer window, even after announcing a series of exits over the past few days.

The club’s main objective in the last week of the market will be to register Dani Olmo. But the club are also open to signing new players, with the right-back position emerging as a potential point of interest.

Barcelona open to Marc Pubill move

In recent days, Marc Pubill has emerged as a potential target for Barça, in their bid to shore up the ranks in the right-back position.

According to Carrusel Deportivo, Pubill remains an option for the Catalans heading into the final week of the transfer market.

Currently plying his trade for Almeria, Pubill was one of the club’s top performers in La Liga last season. But following their relegation, many expect the young defender to find greener pastures.

It must be noted that Pubill was part of the Spain side that secured the gold medal in the Paris Olympics this summer, acting as teammates to Barcelona starlets Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsi and Fermin Lopez.

Barcelona, therefore, remain interested in making a late move for Pubill, who can prove to be an ideal alternative for Jules Kounde in the right-back position.

Pubill’s acquisition could make more sense considering the fact that Hector Fort has found it difficult to impress Hansi Flick and hasn’t exactly enjoyed a good summer.

That said, finding an agreement with Almeria could be tricky, especially if the club continue to struggle with FFP margins. The coming days, to that end, could prove to be crucial.
