Former Inter player and ex-Borussia Dortmund manager Nevio Scala has shared his thoughts ahead of tonight’s Champions League match between the two sides.
“The stadium may be a factor for Dortmund. The team knows how to do well there. On Wednesday I saw them in the German cup against Borussia Monchengladbach which they won 2-1. Dortmund are an exceptionally strong team but can be annoying,” he said in an interview which appeared in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.
“If Inter will be cleverly prepared, as Antonio Conte will surely have them, it will be a balanced match of the highest level.
“Inter will have to face this match with serenity and awareness of being a team that can lay down the law at San Siro and away from home. They must not be afraid, and they must not go on the field thinking they will not suffer against Borussia. Count is a guarantee for Inter because he is a master in preparing for these matches.”
He concluded by touching upon Inter’s strike force of Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku.
“Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku are a partnership that everyone rightly envies. If Inter wish to get a result, they need a great team performance above all.
“When Inter signed Lukaku I did not think very highly of him but he has made me think again. He has extraordinary physical power and he seems to be a boy with his head on his shoulders. I see Gunnar Nordahl and John Charles in him.”
