Denzel Dumfries feels that Inter Milan “responded well” against Barcelona after the difficult week that they’ve had.

The Dutchman spoke to InterTV after the 3-3 Champions League draw, via FCInterNews. He hailed the team’s performance after adverse circumstances.

Inter Milan suffered three consecutive defeats prior to yesterday’s Champions League semifinal first leg against Barcelona.

And after a week like that, many felt it was inevitable that Barcelona away would be the fourth.

The Blaugranas are among the most formidable teams in Europe. They are the top scorers in the Champions League.

And Barcelona did find the back of the net three times against Inter yesterday.

However, at the same time, Inter also scored three goals of their own.

After yesterday’s match, Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries commented that “It was a great match.”

“I’m very proud of the team,” continued the Dutchman.

“Coming back after three losses isn’t easy,” Dumfries admitted. “But today we showed character, and the desire to redeem ourselves.”

“We look forward with confidence,” he added.

Dumfries didn’t hide that “the last week has been a bad week for us.”

“But we’re strong. We talked to each other, and we responded the right way.”

Dumfries: “First Think About Verona – Then Barcelona”

The 29-year-old former PSV wingback added that “I’m proud of the energy and the attitude that we showed.”

“Now that we have this energy we’ll think about Verona first,” Denzel Dumfries then said. Inter take on Hellas Verona in Serie A on Staurday evening.
