Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu feels that there is no doubt about his commitment when he plays for both the Nerazzurri and for his national side Turkey.

Speaking to the press after Turkey’s 2-1 win over the Czech Republic in a friendly, as reported by FCInterNews, the 28-year-old made clear that for him, both his club and country are equally important and that he always does everything he can for them.

Calhanoglu became captain of the Turkish national team this year, inheriting the armband from former captain Burak Yilmaz who officially retired from international football.

The Nerazzurri midfielder has really been growing into a prominent role on and off the pitch for both his club and country.

Calhanoglu wanted to address some criticisms from within the Turkish media that he does not play the same way for his national team as he does for his club.

For the Turk, Inter and the national team are both of the utmost importance.

“I always give my best, and not just for Inter,” the 28-year-old said.

“Sometimes I face criticism, I’m used to it, but I try to always show that I give everything for this shirt.”
