Lucas Vazquez’s time at Real Madrid could be drawing to a close, as contract talks between the club and the player remain stalled.
According to journalist Matteo Moretto (h/t RM4 Arab), both parties are in no rush to make a final decision, choosing instead to focus on how the current season plays out.
At the moment, there is no agreement in place for an extension beyond the summer. While there has been talk of a potential one-year renewal, those discussions have reached a deadlock.
For now, Vazquez is fully concentrated on helping the team finish the season strongly, but doubts continue to surround whether he will remain at the club next season.
There is a sense that these could be Vazquez’s final matches in the famous white shirt, especially given recent signs from manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The 33-year-old, who has offers from the Middles East, has found himself on the fringes in important games, with Ancelotti opting for alternative solutions at right-back—most notably deploying Federico Valverde in that role against Arsenal in the Champions League.
While his role in big games may have diminished, Vazquez remains a respected figure within the squad and a reliable option when called upon.
His experience, professionalism, and versatility have always been appreciated by both coaches and teammates throughout the years.
Nevertheless, with no immediate breakthrough in negotiations, a decision on his future is likely to be made towards the end of the season.
The club and the player are said to be keeping all options open, and much could depend on the team’s performance in the final stretch of the campaign.
For now, Vazquez continues to train with full commitment, and while the future remains uncertain, he still has a role to play in Real Madrid’s bid for more silverware this season.
