NE Revolution player Adam Buksa signs with RC Lens | OneFootball

Adam Buksa is headed to Ligue 1.

The forward will join Racing Club de Lens at the opening of the transfer window after the New England Revolution agreed to transfer the player for an undisclosed fee.

Buksa departs the Revolution after 29 goals and eight assists in 64 overall appearances, and the team's leading scorer in 2022.

He first joined the Major League Soccer side in 2019 from Polish team Pogon Szczecin. He made an immediate impact, breaking into the starting 11 to lead his side to the 2021 Supporters Shield and win the team’s Golden Boot award.

"I’m sure that we will be sorting out a variety of offers over the next couple of weeks or so for the transfer window in Europe," Arena told the media prior to Buksa’s official transfer.

"So, we’ll have to wait and see what happens with those types of offers and whether we’ll accept them or whatever. But he is sought after, and obviously his stints with the Polish national team are helpful and he’ll likely be playing in the [2022 FIFA] World Cup. So, he’s going to attract some interest.”

The move opens up a Designated Player spot for the New England Revolution and gives the team flexibility as the MLS Secondary Transfer Window approaches, which runs from July 7 to August 4.

Buksa’s exit marks the team’s third big move, after the Revolution saw Canadian international figure Tajon Buchanan join Belgium's Club Brugge and USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner sign with Arsenal.
