Jess Naz has claimed the HSBC Player of the Match award after her late winner inspired us to a 2-1 win over Charlton Athletic in Women’s League Cup.
Firing home her second goal of the 2024/25 campaign, our number seven came top of our Player of the Match poll hosted exclusively on our Official App.
The 23-year-old came off the bench with 23 minutes left to play in our clash at The Valley with the scoreline at 1-1 after Luana Buhler’s early opener – her first goal for the Club – was cancelled out by Katie Bradley on the stroke of half time.
The game looked destined to be heading to a penalty shootout for an extra point until Jess, four minutes from time, stepped up with another important goal in her Spurs career.
Drew Spence, who was also introduced as a second half substitute, sent a low-driven pass to set the forward through and, after setting herself perfectly with her first touch, she sent a powerful left-footed strike into the roof of net, ensuring we began our Women’s League Cup campaign with three points.
