Paris Saint-Germain came away with a sluggish 1-1 draw result in its UEFA Champions League group stage opener against Club Brugge.

In the first match with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe on the pitch together, the Ligue 1 giants struggled to muster up multiple promising goal-scoring chances over the course of the match.

PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas earned a start in the match, where he recorded several key saves against the Belgian side. Overall, the Costa Rican goalkeeper sees that PSG still has much to work on over the early stages of the campaign, which he touched on in speaking to PSG TV.

“We know these matches are difficult,” Navas said. “It’s a tournament in which all the teams know how to win and play at their best. We saw that today, and it’s never easy, but we need to keep our heads up because we’re a good team and we can move forward.

“I try to help all my team-mates and to help the team. Of course, we would have preferred to win this game, but we all need to improve individually in our areas and become more solid as a team to be better.”

PSG’s attack has had its way in Ligue 1 play this season, as it has posted a formidable 3.2 goals per game average. Still, much of the attention has now shifted to the French side’s lowly attacking outing against Club Brugge.
