Ederson will remain the undisputed goalkeeper for Manchester City. He will have to play a crucial role for his side at the Anfield.

There will be tactical changes in the defensive line as boss Pep Guardiola will prefer a backline of three men. While Kyle Walker and Ruben Dias are an automatic pick, Nathan Ake is likely to get the nod ahead of Josko Gvardiol and Manuel Akanji.

Midfield

In the big games, the Citizens have played John Stones and Rodri as the two holding midfielders and it will be no different this time as well. The duo will be responsible for neutralizing the opposition’s midfield threat and providing an extra layer of defence.

While Jeremy Doku and Phil Foden will operate on the flanks, veterans like Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne will take a central role in the midfield. They all will try to breach the opponent’s defence and create maximum goal-scoring opportunities. However, there is a bit doubt over the fitness of Doku for the high-voltage contest.

Attack

The attacking line with be led by none other than Erling Haaland. He has been in good form in recent games. It will be a great test of his skills and temperament against world-class defenders like Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk.

Jack Grealish will be the only absentee for the visitors.
