Mario Rui is already being lined up as an alternative option to Roma’s Nicola Zalewski by Turkish Super Lig outfit Galatasaray, according to reports on Wednesday evening.
Galatasaray are hoping to add a new left-back to their ranks before the close of the summer transfer window in Turkey, which will slam shut on Friday night.
Zalewski is the first-choice candidate for that role, and Galatasaray are expecting to hear back with his final decision by the end of Wednesday night.
If they are not able to land an agreement with the Poland international, then they will instead turn their attention to Mario Rui of Napoli instead, as per Gianluca Di Marzio’s reports. West Ham defender and former Italy international Emerson Palmieri was also suggested as an option earlier in the day.
Mario Rui was informed that he was not going to be part of Antonio Conte’s plans earlier in the summer, and has fallen even further behind Mathias Olivera in the pecking order following the arrival of Leonardo Spinazzola from Roma at the start of the window.
Mario Rui, 33, has spent the vast majority of his professional career in Serie A, joining Parma in 2011 and going on to play for Empoli, Roma and Napoli in the top flight.
