Serie A giants Napoli challenge Juventus in a transfer battle for Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori heats up.

According to a report by Daniele Longo, Napoli have emerged as direct competitors to Juventus in their pursuit to land Riccardo Calafiori in the summer. Bologna are aware of an imminent transfer battle for their defender and will only be convinced with an initial offer of around €15/20 million.

As of now, the Emilia-Romagna side have not received any proposals from clubs for the 21-year-old.

Napoli have initiated exploratory contacts to test the waters and they see Calafiori as a potential signing who will be a valuable addition to their side. Meanwhile, Juventus sporting Cristiano Giuntoli has already set up primary contacts with the player’s entourage as they view him as a replacement for the outgoing Alex Sandro.

Manager Thiago Motta has turned Riccardo Calafiori into an impressive central defender this season and as time progresses, there might be a few more clubs to join the fray for a much-anticipated summer transfer battle.
