Koulibaly’s agent has been made to earn his wage in recent years, with links to a handful of Europe’s biggest clubs seemingly prominent each summer.
Manchester United made large investments to their backline two years ago when they signed both Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka but reports of a move for Koulibaly never stuck.
According to Italian outlet Area Napoli, the Italian club rejected a bid worth a whopping €108m for the defender. The offer is said to be from Manchester United but it’s never specified when the alleged bid was lodged.
It’s claimed that Napoli were intent on keeping their star defender and despite the enormous sum offered to them by the Old Trafford hierarchy, improved terms were agreed with the defender instead.
The 29-year-old now has two years remaining on his deal but with his 30th birthday coming up this week, it’s unlikely that Napoli will receive another nine-figure offer for him.
