Matteo Moretto reports that Napoli are pushing to reach an agreement with Alessandro Buongiorno today to avoid a potential Inter bid, while the Italian centre-back has rejected an offer from Juventus.
Football Italia transfer expert Matteo Moretto reports the latest updates on Italy and Torino defender Buongiorno who is in advanced talks with Napoli.
Moretto wrote in his Caught Offside’s Daily Briefing column that the Partenopei are pushing to finalise the deal today.
Inter, in fact, have joined the race for the 25-year-old but the Nerazzurri must complete a sale before making a formal offer to Torino.
This is why Napoli are in a hurry to reach an agreement with Buongiorno’s agent, Giuseppe Riso.
The defender is open to moving to the Stadio Maradona and after last night’s meeting, the two parties are closer to reaching a full agreement, but they are still discussing the release clause and image rights.
Moretto adds that Buongiorno rejected the chance to join Torino city rivals Juventus who had made a ‘big offer’ to secure his signature.
Other sources in Italy claim that the Bianconeri have now set their sights on Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior as Riccardo Calafiori is expected to join the Gunners.
