Napoli want Victor Osimhen’s release clause paid but would be willing to negotiate with Chelsea if Romelu Lukaku was involved in the deal according to reports.

The Blues are in the market for a new striker this summer and Osimhen has been widely reported as their main target, although they have been linked with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.

The Nigerian’s release clause is believed to be around £113m and he is said to also be attracting interest from Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain.

The race for the 25-year-old’s signature is set to be hot one, but Chelsea could hold a trump card which their rivals don’t have.

Lukaku is still on Chelsea’s books following his disastrous return to the club from Inter Milan in 2021 and is currently on loan at AS Roma.

Napoli would reportedly be open to Lukaku being involved in a deal for Osimhen.

The Belgian has an exit clause in his contract which was negotiated before he joined Roma, and it allows him to leave for £38m in the summer.

Now Italian journalist Daniele Longo has reported Napoli would be open to negotiating with the Blues if Lukaku was included as part of the deal.

Longo said: “Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis wants the release clause, which is between €120 and €130 million for Victor Osimhen.

“However, with Chelsea, he is open to a negotiation that includes Romelu Lukaku.
