Napoli are keen on signing Liverpool star Federico Chiesa as they continue their search for a top-class winger (h/t Gianluca Di Marzio).

The Partenopei have failed to sign a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia since his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in January. Manager Antonio Conte wants to address the issue in this transfer window.

Bologna’s Dan Ndoye remains their primary target as the Serie A winners are in advanced talks to secure a deal for the Swiss international.

But Napoli are also keeping tabs on Chiesa, who is considered surplus to requirements at Liverpool.

The Italian winger moved to Anfield from Juventus last summer, however, his time in the Premier League has been nothing but excruciating.

He was largely on the fringes last season, featuring only in 14 games across all competitions.

The 27-year-old is planning to seek an exit from the English champions to revive his career, with Serie A touted as a potential destination.

Chiesa would be eager to sign for a club where he can have a prominent role, with Italy’s new head coach Gennaro Gattuso encouraging the former Juve star to play regularly to gain back his place in the national team.

Having snapped up Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne on a free transfer, the Partenopei are eyeing more big names this summer.

Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish are among the potential targets, but their valuation and steep wages could be a stumbling block for Napoli.

The Italian giants have offered around €40 million to sign Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez, while the Reds value him at €70 million.

They are hoping to sell Victor Osimhen, who spent the last season on loan at Galatasaray, for a considerable fee to make room for Nunez’s signing.
