Current and struggling Serie A champions Napoli are likely to sack manager Walter Mazzarri later today.
The Partenopei are considering sacking a manager for the third time this season as things haven’t quite witnessed a turnaround under Mazzarri. With a game against Barcelona coming up, the club are making considerations.
Marco Conterio has reported that in all likelihood, Napoli will sack Mazzarri and his exit could be announced today, despite the limited time available to bring in a new manager before the Barcelona clash. Slovakia boss Francesco Calzona is Napoli’s chosen man to step in and hold fort for four months, while also being in-charge of the Slovakia national team.
He has previously worked with Napoli managers Luciano Spalletti and Maurizio Sarri and has already sought permission from the Slovakia FA to work at Napoli as manager. An agreement between the two parties already exists and Marek Hamsik will join Calzona will join the club’s staff and all of it could happen in the next few hours.
