Serie A side Napoli have identified Brentford’s Mikkel Damsgaard as a potential Khvicha Kvaratskhelia replacement in January.
According to a report by AreaNapoli.it, Napoli have put Brentford attacker Mikkel Damsgaard on their radar as they continue to search for a replacement for the PSG-bound Kvaratskhelia.
It will be tough to find a player matching the Georgian’s prowess on the pitch but the Partenopei will not rest until they land a big-name signing in January. Signing the Danish international should not be a big issue for Napoli as Brentford’s asking price is expected to be affordable and since the player earns just over €1 million net per season, his salary would not cost them big.
Damsgaard is being set as the secondary option for now as head coach Antonio Conte wants Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho. Primary contacts have been established recently and the Argentine has responded positively to the interest from Napoli.
It remains to be seen if The Red Devils lower their asking price for Garnacho since he is a key squad member with age on his side. Napoli now wait for Kvaratskhelia’s move to Paris Saint-Germain to become official and then they will pursue their interests in the transfer market.
