Napoli interested in Rennes’ Arthur Theate as Tottenham near Radu Drăgușin move | OneFootball

Struggling Serie A champions Napoli are interested in the possibility of signing Rennes defender Arthur Theate.

The Partenopei attempted a move for Radu Drăgușin, who was also subject of interest from Premier League giants Spurs. Despite having a draft agreement with Genoa about how the Romanian could be signed, it seems as if Napoli are now about to focus attention elsewhere.

Sky Italia (via CN24) state that Drăgușin is moving closer and closer to joining Spurs this month and this is leaving Napoli to look at alternatives.

Alessandro Buongiono was a name they were linked with yesterday, but Sky state that former Bologna star Theate is also of keen interest. Some other names are also being looked at by the reigning champions, who find themselves at a disappointing 9th in the table, but it seems as if Theate is high up on the list.

Spurs’ offer for Drăgușin is at €25 million, reducing the gap with Genoa’s demand to just €5 million and it seems as if he would be going further away from Napoli.
