Napoli will try again to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and are scouring the market to find candidates with the right characteristics that wouldn’t necessarily break the bank. Some intermediaries suggested Alvaro Montoro, who has just turned 18 and is blooming at Velez Sarsfield, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
He’s more of a no.10 than a winger but can still be molded. The Partenopei have had internal discussions about him, and he joined the list of possible targets. He has already made 31 appearances, scoring once and providing 2 assists. He possesses an Italian passport.
Napoli have been eyeing Paixao for a long time. They couldn’t sign him in January because he’s extra-EU. He seems to reciprocate the interest given some social media posts. They won’t be the only ones after him, though.
The Azzurri could also rekindle their pursuit of Noa Lang. In some remarks while facing Juventus in the Champions League, he stated that the Partenopei wanted him in the past window, but PSV said no. Their offer reportedly amounted to €25M. He has registered 11 goals and 11 assists so far.
They should double or even triple-dip on the wings, especially if they don’t onboard a super-duper star who would have to play all the time because of his stature and price tag. It probably won’t be the case. Giving Antonio Conte a teenager from another continent would be very risky if they wanted him to contribute right away. Plus, they should be careful about not signing inconsistent players who could quickly end up in the coach’s doghouse.
