Napoli continue to work in move for Tottenham’s Giovanni Lo Celso | OneFootball

Napoli are in regular negotiations with Premier League club Tottenham to land the signature of Giovanni Lo Celso this summer.

According to a report by Marco Conterio, Napoli are aiming to strengthen their team for the upcoming Scudetto defending season and have identified Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso as a potential signing.

The 27-year-old has played an influential role for La Liga outfits Villarreal during the 2022/23 season and half of the 2021/22 campaign. Piotr Zielinski nears an exit as he is expected to join Al-Hilal and this event could pave the way for the Partenopei bringing in Lo Celso as a replacement.

The profile of the Argentine perfectly fits what new manager Rudi Garcia wants and the Scudetto champions will step up negotiations in the next few days.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis currently values the player at €15 million but it remains short of Spurs’ asking price of around €25 million. The key will be to lower this €10 million gap and finalise the transfer soon. It has been previously reported that the English giants either want to sell the player permanently or on an initial loan deal with the obligation to buy.
