Manchester City are braced for another summer raid from Napoli, with the Italians weighing up a move for Jack Grealish.
According to Italian news publication Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A champions are considering whether or not to make a move for the Man City outcast.
Grealish is expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer after a turbulent couple of years.
He has fallen out of favour under Pep Guardiola, but Napoli are now considering whether to offer the England international an escape route from his nightmare at the Etihad.
The 29-year-old is a shadow of the player that broke the British transfer record when he joined Man City from Aston Villa four years ago.
Over the past couple of years, he has been forced to accept a back-up role at Man City.
Last season, Grealish featured 32 times across all competitions but started just 16 games. He played 20 times in the Premier League but started just seven games.
His limited game time means he could only return three goals and five assists.
To make matters worse, he started just one Premier League game for Man City since the turn of the new year and was left out of Guardiola’s Club World Cup squad.
Guardiola was asked about that decision, but he made it clear that it had nothing to do with off-field issues. He insisted that he just preferred to take Jeremy Doku and Savinho ahead of Grealish.
Guardiola has repeatedly praised Grealish’s quality but has also admitted that the Englishman needs playing time and might not be able to get it at Man City.
Grealish has two years left on his Man City contract but is all but certain to leave the club this summer.
A move to Napoli would reunite him with former teammate Kevin De Bruyne, but there has to be plenty of compromise if he’s to join the Belgian in Naples.
Napoli have already held talks to sign Grealish, but everything depends on his salary demands and whether Man City would be willing to pay a part of his wage to facilitate a loan move.
