Napoli coach Antonio Conte expects that there will be “seven or eight teams” competing for the Serie A title.
Conte gave his thoughts after his team’s opening day victory over Sassuolo, via FCInterNews.
Today, the Serie A season begins. Last season’s champions Napoli are in action against Sassuolo. Meanwhile, the likes of Roma and AC Milan also begin their own campaigns.
Inter will have to wait until Monday to kick off their season.
The Nerazzurri’s match against Torino is the final match of the weekend.
For Inter, the goal will certainly be to avenge last season’s final day failure in the title race.
Meanwhile, Napoli will feel the pressure to mount a title defense that’s much better than their disastrous 2023-24 campaign.
Then, teams like Juventus, Atalanta, and Milan among others will all be hoping for improvements from last season.

Napoli coach Antonio Conte anticipated that “it will be a tough, and fascinating season.”
“Seven or eight teams will fight to win the Scudetto,” he continued. “And to qualify for the Champions League.”
“All the teams are strong and well-equipped,” Conte said.
Meanwhile, the Napoli coach noted that “last season we didn’t have any cup competitions.”
“Now we’re trying to bring in new players,” he added. “But it’s not easy.”
