Napoli welcomed Cagliari to town on Saturday and needed one moment of brilliance to come on top.

Despite a staggering 21 shots to nine and 68% possession of the ball, Napoli struggled to find the back of the net against a resilient Cagliari side who were well up for the challenge.

It wasn’t until the final 20 minutes of this match that things became entertaining, with Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia proving their worth once again.

After a handful of efforts, the Nigerian striker leapt highest to head home a perfect cross from Mário Rui, and goalkeeper Simone Scuffet’s hands couldn’t stop it.

Yet in the blink of an eye, Leonardo Pavoletti scored against his former club after bundling the ball over the line following a counter-attack.

A moment of magic then decided this match.

Osimhen controlled a bobbling cross, chested it down and then juggled with his knee three times before heading the ball into his own path.

He then bullied over three Cagliari defenders and got just enough of a touch to cut the ball back to an open Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who slammed the winner home.

The result sees Napoli earn their first league win since 25 November and sit fourth. Cagliari, meanwhile, are 16th.
