Napoli have established contacts with Francesco Calzona to replace Walter Mazzarri at the club.

According to a report by Alfredo Pedulla, current Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri has lost the trust of President Aurelio De Laurentiis and the chances of his sacking are increasing ahead of the Champions League clash against Barcelona. The Partenopei are in contact with Slovakia National Team coach Francesco Calzona to become the head coach at the club soon.

The Italian manager has said ‘yes’ to the advancements from Napoli and now it is up to Aurelio De Laurentiis to announce his appointment. However, he is currently thinking about whether to keep Mazzarri on the sidelines for the mid-week high-profile fixture versus The Blaugranas.

The Neapolitans have also contacted former player Marek Hamsik who now works as a team manager for Slovakia. He could become an assistant coach if he arrives in Naples and this could turn out to be a double appointment for the club.

The decision is set to be taken in the next few hours as the club has been performing underwhelmingly this season.
