Napoli have enquired about signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp, according to Sky Germany. Benfica have also shown interest in signing the Europa League winner, who has two-years remaining on his current Eintracht deal.
Trapp (32) left Eintracht Frankfurt for PSG in 2015 before spending the 2018/19 season back on loan at the Hessen club, before they purchased their former player on a permanent basis against for €7m.
The Germany international also has an automatic option to extend his contract by a further year, but as of yet it’s unclear as to what Trapp’s future will be.
Benfica head coach Roger Schmidt are preparing for the potential departure of goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos but Napoli have already asked whether Trapp could imagine a move.
Speaking in January earlier this year, SGE sporting director Markus Krösche believes that Trapp will stay at Eintracht for the remainder of his career: “I assume that Kevin Trapp will end his career at Eintracht Frankfurt. He feels comfortable and knows how much the environment appreciates him.”
During his two spells at Eintracht Frankfurt, Trapp has played 255 games across all competitions and was key to their Europa League winning campaign under Oliver Glasner last season.
