And they knew that could so easily be cut to four in a flash, with the Bianconeri travelling to Naples on the back of eight consecutive league victories.

Despite the fact they’ve had injury issues, Juventus also managed to keep clean sheets in all eight of those games – which is bonkers to be honest.

But when Max Allegri’s side came up against Napoli at the iconic Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, their defensive stability was turned into defensive frailty.

Spalletti’s well-oiled machine made the statement of all statements by thrashing Juventus 5-1, Victor Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia the undisputed stars of the show.

Kvaratskhelia scored and contributed two assists during his masterclass, while Osimhen bagged two goals to make it 12 in 14 Serie A appearances this season. Oh, the Nigerian also recorded an assist, just for good measure.

Spalletti’s stars shine in Naples

Yeah, it was certainly a night to remember for veteran manager Spalletti.

The Italian is now closing in on becoming the first man to guide Napoli to the Scudetto in the post-Maradona era.

It would be some achievement, one made all the better by the fact that Spalletti’s team are playing arguably the most beautiful and entertaining football of any side on the planet right now.

Spalletti really is a world-class manager – and it seems he’s also a part-time joker as well.

Why do we say that?

Well, after Napoli’s emphatic victory over Juventus, Spalletti went viral on social media for hilariously chasing Allegri for a handshake.

It was like something out of a comedy film and at the end of Spalletti’s awkward – and brilliant – scuttle towards the tunnel, the two icons of Calcio shared an embrace.

Magnificent stuff and it was great to see the respect between the pair at the end.

So, what next for Napoli on their quest to win Serie A?

Their next five league fixtures pit them against Salernitana (A), Roma (H), Spezia (A), Cremonese (H) and Sassuolo (A).

The way their playing, you expect Napoli to emerge with 15 points from a possible 15 and if they do so, the title will virtually be in the bag.
