Nantes youth prospect to be loaned to Le Mans | OneFootball

FC Nantes midfielder Malang Gomes (20) will be loaned out to Le Mans FC, according to Ouest-France.

The young defensive midfielder will get his first taste of professional football in Ligue 2. Le Mans won promotion from the Championnat National in the 2024-25 season, finishing second with 58 points.

Malang Gomes joined Nantes at the age of 12 and has progressed through the club ever since. Gomes was central to the U19 Championnat National title campaign of Nantes last season. In addition, Gomes captained the Nantes youth team in their UEFA Youth League campaign. Under Gomes’ leadership, Les Canaris made it to the semi-finals of the competition before losing to Olympiacos on penalties.

Nantes’ first team will compete in Ligue 1 for their 13th successive season in 2025-26. The club are looking to build upon their 13th-place finish in 2024-25, where they ended just three points above the relegation qualification zone.
