RMC Sport report this afternoon that the LFP – French professional football’s governing body – have ordered Nantes to bring Belgian midfielder Anthony Limbombe back into the squad.

The 27-year-old has not played for Les Canaris for the best part of two years, but will now be able to return to training following a decision by the LFP’s judicial commission.

Limbombe, who was the club’s record signing in 2018 on arriving from Club Brugge for €8m, had been training with the reserves since the start of the season.

The Belgian international had appealed the decision to banish him from the professional squad on three separate occasions, as well as his disappearance from team pictures and events as well as the club’s website.

Nantes will be fined should they fail to bring Limbombe back into the fray, while the 27-year-old’s contract expires at the end of next season.
