According to Ouest France, Nantes have agreed a deal with Watford to sign French international Moussa Sissoko (32). Antoine Kombouaré will therefore see the first arrival of the summer, having bemoaned the one-way traffic of players leaving the club this window, with none joining Les Canaris.
The transfer is reportedly worth €2m, with the 32-year-old signing on with this season’s Coupe de France winners for a period of two years. The move comes six years after his €35m transfer from Newcastle to Tottenham, following the European Championship final, in which Sissoko played 110 minutes, before being beaten by Portugal.
The midfielder has accumulated 71 caps with the French national team, but has not been recalled by Didier Deschamps since last year’s Euro disappointment. The 32-year-old did however feature heavily in the Watford side this season, missing only two Premier League games, but was unable to avoid relegation.
