L’Équipe report tonight that Nantes are set to complete the signing of striker Mostafa Mohamed from Galatasaray on a loan deal in the coming days.

Les Canaris had already made an attempt to sign the Egyptian from his formative club, Zamalek, in 2020, for a €2.5m fee. Mohamed was also the subject of interest from Bordeaux late on in last year’s summer window.

With the club looking to add another two strikers to the options at Antoine Kombouaré’s disposal – given their upcoming Eurpa League campaign – the Egyptian international now looks set to move to La Beaujoire on loan with an option to buy.

The 24-year-old is under contract with the Turkish side for the next three years. He scored seven goals in 24 games last season, also registering three assists.

A host of French clubs had been keeping an eye on the striker, with Reims and Toulouse being linked with a move last month while Lyon and Saint-Étienne were also potential destinations this past winter.
