According to a report from L’Équipe, Nantes have reached an agreement in principle with Russian Premier League champions FK Krasnodar for the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Douglas Augusto. The deal is worth €6.5 million, marking another key departure from the Ligue 1 side this summer.

The 28-year-old is set to bring an end to his two-season stay at La Beaujoire. Augusto joined Les Canaris from Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki in 2023, and quickly became a central figure in midfield under a succession of managers. He had two years remaining on his contract.

Krasnodar’s first offer—reportedly in the region of €4 million—was rejected, but the Russian club returned with an improved bid that met Nantes’ valuation.

This marks Nantes’ second major sale of the window, following Moses Simon’s impending €7 million switch to newly promoted Paris FC. It marks the start of a transfer window for manager Luís Castro which requires all-round change at the club. GFFN | George Boxall
