According to Dahbia Hattabi, Moussa Sissoko (32), who is reportedly set to join Coupe de France winners Nantes for €2m in a two-year deal, was also targetted by Monaco and Lyon.
Hattabi is reporting that Sissoko has already passed his medical and is set to sign his contract with Les Canaris. However, to get their man, they reportedly had to fend off interest from AS Monaco and Lyon. The former are looking for midfield reinforcements following the departure of Aurélien Tchouaméni to Real Madrid for a reported €100m.
Meanwhile, Lyon are also targeting midfielders. Following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette, another former player in Corentin Tolisso (27) is also set to rejoin the club. The French international midfielder is a free agent having left Bayern Munich and his medical is reportedly set to take place on Thursday.
Watford midfielder Sissoko has 71 caps for the Les Bleus but has not featured since the side’s unsuccessful European Championship campaign last summer. Last season, he featured in all but two of Watford’s Premier League fixtures, but couldn’t prevent the side from relegation to the Championship.
