Ouest-France report this morning that a deal has been reached between Nantes and Nice over the transfer of Algerian international striker Andy Delort, who will move on an initial loan deal with an obligatory permanent option to be triggered at the end of the season.

The former Montpellier striker will then sign on a two-year deal with Les Canaris. The 31-year-old leaves Nice after a year and a half, having scored 25 goals in all competitions during that time but had grown increasingly out of favour with Les Aiglons. Delort’s career previously saw him undergo spells at Wigan Athletic and Tigres in Mexico after his breakout year at Ligue 2 side Tours, before becoming a consistent goalscorer at Montpellier.

The aim for Antoine Kombouaré’s men is to have Delort available for next Wednesday’s match against Marseille, with one eye on the team’s Europa League knockout stage clash against Juventus next month as well.
