Han-Noah Massengo has made the switch from Burnley to Augsburg
Nahki Wells has issued a message to former Bristol City teammate Han-Noah Massengo after he completed his move to FC Augsburg.
The 24-year-old has made the permanent move away from English football, departing Burnley, signing a deal until the summer of 2030.
The pair played together at Ashton Gate from 2020 to 2023, but they have now both moved on from the Robins.
Wells made the switch to Luton Town following the end of last season, with his contract with the Championship side coming to an end in June.
Massengo has issued a message on social media to confirm the news of his move.
He has expressed his excitement at the next step in his career, signing a long-term deal with the Bundesliga side.
“New beginnings!” Massengo wrote, via Instagram.
“Excited for this new chapter.
“Ready to give everything for the club and the fans.
“See you soon @fcaugsburg1907 fans.”
This led to a flood of replies, including from Wells, who wished him good luck with the move to German football.
“GL brother,” he wrote.
Massengo made 99 league appearances in three years at Bristol City before signing for Burnley.
Gerhard Struber is now in charge of Bristol City, with the club looking to kick on from their run to the play-offs last season.
Emil Riis, Joe Lumley, Adam Randell and Yu Hirakawa have all joined the club, as they look to fight for promotion to the Premier League.
The Robins have until 1 September to complete any further signings, having lost the likes of Wells, Taylor Gardner-Hickman, Kal Naismith, Ayman Benarous and Stefan Bajic.
Struber’s side will begin their campaign with a clash against their play-off semi-final victors Sheffield United on 9 August in a 5.30pm kick-off.
Massengo was an important player to Bristol City when he was first coming through at senior level, and it will surely be a club that he holds a soft spot for.
Supporters will be pleased to see someone like Wells wishing him good luck on the new season, and it will be another opportunity for him to prove himself at a top flight level.
The 24-year-old has played in Ligue 1 with Auxerre, but didn’t really get an opportunity in the Premier League with the Clarets, playing just three times.
But now this long-term deal with Augsburg will likely see him become a regular part of their side, as they look to climb the German top flight table.
