MIAMI – The Dominican Republic won its third consecutive encounter in League B as the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League continued Saturday.
Group D was on display in the second tier with two matches at the National Sports Centre in Hamilton, Bermuda. The Dominican Republic maintained its first-place lead while Bermuda kept pace to follow in second place.
Antigua and Barbuda vs. Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic won 5-nil against Antigua and Barbuda, extending its undefeated start to 3-0-0 in Group D.
César García opened the scoring in the 11' with a header at the far post on a corner kick opportunity for the Dominican Republic.
Dorny Romero extended the lead in the 13' after being persistent to win a contested ball in the box.
Ronaldo Vásquez added the third goal of the day in the 39', receiving a ball over the top from Luiyi de Lucas and finishing with a right-footed hit to the bottom left corner.
Júnior Firpo opened his account in the 88' with a left-footed strike inside the penalty area. Michael Sambataro provided the assist after recovering the ball from a blocked attempt.
Firpo collected his brace in the 90'+2 with a conversion from a penalty kick attempt.
Dominica vs. Bermuda
Bermuda won 6-1 against Dominica to improve to six points, with a 2-0-1 record, and move within three points of first place in Group D.
Nahki Wells opened the scoring in the 9' with a right-footed strike inside the box to connect with a long ball over the top from Roger Lee.
Wells struck another hit from the right side of the box to earn his brace in the 18', doubling the lead for the hosts.
Wells converted from a penalty kick opportunity in the 26’ to complete his hat-trick.
Zeiko Lewis struck in front of goal in the 49’ to follow up a rebound from a previously blocked attempt.
Travist Joseph cut the deficit in the 61' with a strike inside the penalty area, earning his second goal of the campaign.
Knory Scott added a fifth for Bermuda in the 85' by connecting inside the box with an assist from Nahki Wells.
Jai Bean added his name to the scoresheet in the 90' with a left-footed strike in the box to put a bow on the three points.
