Nacho set to miss El Clásico after Girona red card

Real Madrid defender Nacho has received a three-game suspension for his stoppage-time red card against Girona last weekend.

The 33-year-old will miss Los Blancos’ El Clásico showdown with rivals Barcelona at the end of October as a result.

Nacho’s absence for the coming weeks further enflames Carlo Ancelotti’s selection problems in defence with Éder Militão and David Alaba already sidelined by injury.

As it stands in LaLiga, Madrid sit one point ahead of Barcelona after eight games.
