‘My main goal is to’… Barcelona star opens up on his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or | OneFootball

With his increased importance in the FC Barcelona team and his incredible performances on the pitch this season, the Brazilian winger Raphinha has been getting a lot of spotlight this season.

Currently, he is away on international duty as he has been called up by the Selecao. After helping his team get a crucial win against Colombia, is now set to feature in one of the biggest games in world football, the Superclasico between Brazil and Argentina.

Ahead of this big game, the winger appeared in an interview with the former Brazil and Barcelona superstar Romario. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, one of the subjects that they talked about in this interview was his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or.

“It’s normal for it to cross my mind, and if I told you otherwise, I’d be lying. But I try to put it aside and focus on my personal goals in my career, whether it’s scoring goals, providing assists, or winning titles.”

Further commenting on this topic, the Blaugrana winger said:

“I think that if I achieve all the goals I wrote down in my notebook by the end of the season, the possibility of winning an individual award will be very high… But I don’t like to focus too much on the Ballon d’Or because thinking about it too much can become a distraction. My main goal is to score goals, create chances, win titles, and enjoy playing.”

Raphinha also revealed that he did not even realise he had made a record in the UEFA Champions League this season:

“The truth is, I didn’t even know I was so close to reaching those numbers. I found out when they told me, and it was a total surprise… I’m very happy to have achieved it.”

With the way he is playing, it would not be too difficult for the Blaugrana forward to break some more records before the season ends. Hopefully, he will be able to do so, and also get the Ballon d’Or back to Barcelona once again this year.
