Germany have announced their new shirt numbers ahead of this month’s friendlies and Bayern Munich forward Jamal Musiala has been bestowed a great honour.
The 21-year-old – who has been in sensational form for his club recently – will be Die Mannschaft’s new number 10, and will wear the shirt for the first time when Julian Nagelsmann’s side take on France in a friendly in Lyon this Saturday.
But Musiala’s club team-mate Leon Goretzka will be less pleased to hear that his number eight jersey has been given to somebody else.
Goretzka was left out of Nagelsmann’s squad for the current international window, and Toni Kroos, who has come out of international retirement ahead of the EURO, will take the number eight, the DFB confirmed on Wednesday.
